I recently wrote an article for Grandly on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it can be of assistance to grandparents. I then asked GEMINI (an AI tool developed by Google) to improve the article. I set reminders for all the important things: “Water the sunflowers with Lily,” “Make those yummy pretzels with Ethan,” and “Listen to a Bible story with Noah.” It’s easy to get caught up in the fun and forget things, but Gemini keeps me on track. It’s also great for scheduling appointments for outings, ensuring we make the most of our time together.
Information Guru: Before we head out, I check the weather and traffic with Gemini. It’s important to make sure our adventures will be safe and enjoyable. When I want to plan a trip to Northern Michigan and incorporate the interests of my three grandsons, Gemini can give a recommended destination that will appeal to everyone. I can also check the news to make sure any areas we plan to visit are safe.
Question Answerer Genius: Kids are full of questions! Sometimes, they are tough ones. Whether it’s a technical question about fixing a bike (like when the chain came off last time) or a tricky Bible question, Gemini helps me find the answers quickly. It’s like having a knowledgeable friend on speed dial. No question is too big or too small for my trusty AI assistant.
I love spending time with my grandkids and helping them learn and grow. Gemini isn’t replacing the special moments we share; it’s enhancing them. It allows me to focus on creating lasting memories, building a strong spiritual foundation, and exploring their interests. With Gemini’s help, I feel like I can truly be the best grandma I can be! It’s not about wishing for the “good old days,” it’s about embracing the future and all the amazing tools we have to make our time with family even more meaningful.
