Hello, my name is Stan Mathay, and I am the Development Director for Grandly. As such, I lead our effort to raise the funding needed to finance our ministry. I graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and about ten years later with a master’s degree in education from Eastern Michigan University. I worked for General Motors for several years before embarking on a lengthy teaching career in which I taught everything from elementary school to college. My primary teaching concentration was math and physics.
When I’m not working for Grandly, I love to spend time outdoors, especially canoeing and backpacking. In the summer I assist with a ministry I founded that takes junior high boys on wilderness adventure trips. It definitely keeps me young at heart! I am a member of the Servants of the Word, a missionary brotherhood of men living single for the Lord, and I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
